Our Treasurer is leaving. Can we choose a new person via an email vote or do we have to have a formal meeting?

Email is acceptable. Make sure you have the right addresses and ask people to confirm receipt by replying with vote or abstention.

Our bylaws state: "The officers of the Association shall be President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. All parcel owners who derive a benefit of the maintained road(s) shall be a member in good standing of the Road Association".

The newly elected treasurer became treasurer at the annual meeting, one week ago. Now, the treasurer has put their house up for sale and will move out of the development as soon as it is sold.

Question: If the treasurer no longer lives in or has property within the road association, is a replacement for that position required or do they retain the position of treasurer if they move less that 30 miles away from the subdivision?

I do not see anything in the Maine statutes that limits who can be on the Board of Directors of a Road Association. There is nothing saying a Board member must be a resident or owner of land in, or near the Association.
