people using our private road as a short cut

    Hello,

The end of our private road abuts a seasonal campground.

We have a sign posted facing the campground that states

"PRIVATE PROPERTY - Restview Lane is a private road.  It is maintained by the residents for their use only."   This siign is posted on a partial fence.

They ignore it and continue to use our road as a short cut and access to Route 1.

What do we need to do to make it illegal for them to use our Road?  Our concerns are that of liability if one of them gets injured on our Road.

This is our second request for this problem. Your help is greatly appreciated.

You previously posted that you erected a "No Tresspassing" sign. Thus, it is already illegal for others to use your road. And as I posted previously, this is quite unsurprising. Unless you have some means of monitoring trespass onto your road and are willing to call the police when it occurs, people will probably not respect the sign. You need to consider some physical means to prevent vehicles from accessing your road. How do they get on to your road? Do they cut across a field or lot? You could place some sort of barrier to prevent vehicles from crossing over, even something as simple as a ditch.

It is not vehicles, but foot traffic.  Also kids on bikes.  There is
a partial fence and they created a foot path to access our road
