Minutes of the Meeting

Is there any law that talks about when the minutes of a meeting of a road association should be distributed?  We had an annual meeting in August and the secretary just informed me that  " Everything will be sent out when the minutes are ready for distribution". This is a small association that only needs a quorum of 15 people to pass anything and usually that's about all that show up. We did change our bylaws somewhat.

    Thank you for any advice

The Maine statue for road associations states:

What communication with membership is required subsequent to meeting? Statute reads: The commissioner or board shall report the outcome of all votes to all the owners by United States mail within 30 days. Again, email is an acceptable alternative so long as the receiving party agrees and the communication includes the current address and telephone number of the sender for purposes of verification.

So there may be some wiggle room if no votes were cast.  Of course, if they don't comply, then what?  There are all sorts of ways to press the situation and with a small group, that can be problematic.

Maybe, in a pleasant way, ask the president about the minutes in a letter and state your confidence they will send out the minutes asap.  You may want to ask for their Officer's and Director's liability insurance carrier without being threatening.  I think the hint will work however.
