LD 1311, An Act To Amend the Law Regarding Lien Recordings on Statutory Road Associations

I have been dealing with a section of road that is "private" and not being maintained by anyone for approximately +10 years.  I have been advocating for the creation of a Statutory Road Association, primarily because we have many who benefit from the road but refuse to step up and contribute to the maintenance and repair.

I am unable to attend the session in August.  I really would like to understand how LD 1311 changes the situation and what recourse we have given a high percent of residents who benefit from said road who refuse to contribute.

    Thanks

In a nutshell, becoming a statutory road association will enable you to collect from non-payers. That is the whole point of the law. Getting there is complicated but this messdage board can help if you search for your answer using the search bar.

LD 1311 does not change or affect in any way the process of how a statutory road association is formed.
