You probably just received a "Mud Season" letter in which I asked for your support keeping MARA going. MARA has steady membership and over 11,000 users of its website annually. I can only do registrations as of this year, but if there's to be a Conference 2019, it's up to the membership to provide the leadership to make that happen. Likewise, if MARA is to track legislation, we need member/s to do that.

Do you have thoughts about this? Can you help? Please reply!

Yes I can!!! I'd be willing to be on a conference committee to help plan it, but will not do it alone, I need others too, especially people who's done it in the past. I sent a private message to our AMAZING administrator other items too. MAINE is a hugely camp roads, back trails and lots of territories were we need to unite. Thank you for reaching out to members.

I sent a message to Betsy but it bounced back, saying her mailbox is temporarily full.  Quite understandable under the circumstances.

I will continue to do my best to keep tabs on relevant legislation and to notify MARA when I see something coming up.  I will also continue to answer forum questions when I can.

Unfortunately, I cannot commit to doing a lot for the Conference, as we're coming up on the busiest part of my year.  However, I'd be willing to help with the planning if there is something small I can do.  I would hate to not have a conference this year, as I have recommended to various people that they attend as a good way of getting started towards forming a statutory road association.

MARA is filling a great need for people in Maine who live on roads that are not maintained by the public.  I sincerely hope that many members will step up to fill in the gaps.  If a lot of us help a little, then no one person will have to do too much.

    Dear Betsy,

If you would permit us to ask you questions about previous conferences, I would be willing to work on and possibly chair the planning committee this year. I have commitments to two three-day trout fishing trips in June and to a hiking trip the first week in July.

I consider the Alliance Resources and Discussion Forum valuable resources for our road association. I'm certain others agree. I enjoyed last year's conference and gained valuable information from questions answered by Cliff Goodall and Mary Denison. I am most willing to help!
