Guide for Conduct of Meeting

    Is there any specific guide for how the meeting should be moderated such as Roberts Rule of Order or the Guide for conducting Town Meetings? Without a knowledgeable Moderator like Cliff Goodall, meetings can quickly get out of control.

    Roberts' Rules of Order is an entire book, and way too detailed for the average layman to be familiar with.  My recommendation would be to use a simplified version that covers the basics of what most meetings need.  The Resources page here on the MARA website has a chart on Rules of Procedure for Meetings.  Or you can go online and look for Simplified Robert's Rules.  Here's one good example, from Cornell University:
