In the course of discussion forming a statutory road asociation, the issue of liability insurance for the association has been raised.  I see in the manual that liability insurance is considered a Good Idea.  Does anyone any guidance on where such insurance can be obtained, and what the typical cost might be?

This is an upcoming COLA/MARA initiative, to investigate the insurance issue for road associations and report back to our respective memberships. I believe there is a lot of misunderstanding about the need for it, and certainly, the cost ought to reflect whether an association is a non-profit or formed under the private ways stature or both.

We have insurance for anyone that touches the road.  It is basically Condo Directors Insurance without the condo.  It runs us about $525.00 a year.  If you want the agent info let me know-ours is in Windham.
